Visitors to Christchurch's favourite department store may have noticed displays using our mid century and antique furniture.  A beautiful Norwegian leather lounge suite sits comfortably with the high end street wear at the Contemporary Lounge.  In the front window, a French antique clock is part of Ballantyne's Alice in wonderland themed display.

Alan Carters Antique & Collectables Price Guide

Alan Carters Antique & Collectables Price Guide has produced the first New Zealand edition, the Alan Carters Antiques & Collectables for 2010.

 

Because mr mod is New Zealand's specialist in mid century design, we have been invited to showcase some of our most collectable mid century and antique furniture for this publication.

Mr Mod at The Christchurch Art Gallery

In March 2009 mr mod exhibits furniture at The Christchurch Art Gallery for the Rita Angus and the Sir Miles Warren Exhibitions.
 
Visitors took the opportunity to read about Rita Angus in the 30’s and 40’s themed reading room, furnished by mr mod.
 
In the gallery foyer, design heroes Hans Wagner and Eames provided fitting seating for visitors to ponder the Sir Miles Warren Exhibition.

Opening Night Party At The New Shop

Several hundred mr mod supporters braved the winter’s cold to attend the ‘new shop opening party’ in St Martins, Christchurch (Friday 27 June).

Guests enjoyed a party atmosphere reminiscent of the mod era with flowing champagne and the finest local gourmet nibbles (thank you Mitchellis!).

Creators Ross Morrison and Monica Beaumont were thrilled by the overwhelming turnout and positive feedback. A great start to an exciting new venture!
